Debuting Our New Lights in a Yorkshire Cottage
Four New Collections // With a collection of over 70 new lights across four new collections, we wanted to find somewhere very special to showcase them. As soon as we saw Kirkgate Cottage, we immediately fell in love. It is perhaps one of the most stylishly renovated cottages we’ve ever seen and the ideal canvas to showcase our new collections.
The building’s low ceilings would demonstrate perfectly how our new flush fitting range is ideal for low ceilings and period cottage proportions. Paired with this beautiful interior, it would also show how they work as a simple style statement for any ceiling, high or low.
The beautiful colour palette by architect Reah Booth would be the perfect backdrop for our new, gently off-white Flatford and Flatford Plug-In wall lights, and the Bergholt plug-in wall lights.
Pictures paint a thousand words, and so we are delighted to be able to present our new collections here…
The cottage itself is impeccably designed. It offers an authentic experience through sensitive restoration, incorporating all modern luxuries while maintaining the building’s true spirit. The interior design choices are beautifully and carefully curated, from the soft paint colours to the antique furniture and natural materials. Every corner is a pleasure to the eye.
With Ripon Cathedral a stone’s throw away, we couldn’t resist a visit to its beautiful interiors bathed in light from the stained glass windows. We were delighted to see Kirkgate Cottage, a listed building, included in the scale model within the Cathedral.
The cottage is a boutique hideaway in the heart of the idyllic village of Ripon. It is the perfect place to explore Yorkshire, with deer parks and the immense ruins of Fountains Abbey just a few minutes’ drive away. Nestled beneath the majestic Ripon Cathedral, the cottage offers a dream-like atmosphere where the hours slip away easily. This renovation is the realisation of a lifelong ambition for Reah, who, as a young girl living locally, would walk past the cottage and dream about one day renovating it. Her architectural sensibilities and creative flair are apparent in every detail of this now beautiful space. Harmonious colours and natural materials bring together this wholly cohesive scheme that achieves both elegance and comfort while retaining the original character of the building.
The biggest impression the cottage has left with us is the sense of calm and quiet, punctuated by the occasional sound of the cathedral bells.
Thank you, Kirkgate Cottage, for having us.
